That’s because she is the ONLY female of that level in Country right now, they have no females to pick from to give awards too. Carrie is NOT country she is pop.
Look, it’s a prediction and I may be totally wrong. But I honestly don’t think that Eric Church is even a contender. I appreciate that his fans hope and want him to win, and I agree he’s put together a strong year. But I’m just seeing all the stars align for Carrie. Also, I’m basing the fact that Eric doesn’t even really care about Entertainer of the Year on his own words. I’d have to hunt for the interviews, but on numerous occasions after he’s won Album of the Year, he’s said that is what he cares about because it’s a creativity award, not a popularity award. I’m paraphrasing obviously. I think if someone told Eric they’re voting for him for Entertainer, he would tell them to save that vote, and and vote Album of the Year instead.

The tour has been a tribute of sort to women in country music. As reported by iHeartRadio , a fan video captured the moment Carrie Underwood came dangerously close to suffering a scary spill on Thursday night. The 36-year-old singer was jogging across a walkway in a pair of bright pink ankle boots with chunky high heels when she appeared to step on a small gap in the stage. Carrie wasn’t looking down because she was busy waving at the crowd and giving members of her crew high-fives. Luckily, Carrie was in the process of slapping guitarist Chad Jeffers’ hand when she tripped, so he was able to help steady her and prevent her from falling down.
Underwood’s rise to fame came after winning the fourth season of ‘American Idol’ in 2005, launching the singer into country-music stardom. After the victory and the subsequent Idols Live Tour, Underwood released her debut single Inside Your Heaven” which immediately debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the only country single of the decade to do so. If all things were equal, and Entertainer of the Year went to the artist who had the greatest overall impact and success in the genre over a given eligibility period, this award would have to go to Luke Combs who has set the world on fire in country music in 2019. But he wasn’t even nominated, though rest assured, he will be in the coming years. But this year it’s Carrie Underwood’s turn, and there’s many reasons to argue it should be, even if you’re lukewarm on her music, as many true country music fans tend to be. Though some of her radio singles are hard to defend (including her current one Southbound”), Underwood clearly can sing. She’s always honored her commitments to the Grand Ole Opry while many of her mainstream contemporaries regularly shrug them off. She doesn’t use choreography in her shows and has no need for Auto-Tune. There are worse candidates for country music’s Entertainer of the Year.
The pink dress Carrie Underwood is wearing in the Twitter video is the same one that makes an appearance in a concert video that she recently shared with her fans. It provides a better look at the gorgeous gown, which features a bodice that resembles flower petals.

Carrie Underwood is a legend and a icon in country music. She deserves a ETOY win to have on her resume. Personally I am the biggest Eric Church fan and would love to see him grab the ETOY, I been to 10 of his concerts over the years, his live performance is second to none. I disagree with Trigger I think Eric wants that ETOY win, but who knows. I know some of us don’t like Carrie’s music, but she is a class act as a human and performer, have at least a little respect. I’d be happy for her and County Music if Carrie won the ETOY. Just my opinion.
