As an instrumentalist, McFerrin is brilliant. He creates these lush, kind of swirling songs. He blends jazz, electronic and hip-hop in a way reminiscent of Flying Lotus. In fact, his first album, Early Riser was put out on Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder label.
