King Ghidorah came to Earth in a meteor in 1964, intending to wipe out all life on the planet. It makes sense in this interconnected, everything-must-have-a-cinematic-universe attached-to-it world.
godzilla vs king kong cast 2020 – Godzilla Vs Kong Air Date, Leaks Trailer, NewCAST, Possibilities, Interesting Expectations And Possibilities.
Being one of the most-awaited movies of all-time, Godzilla vs Kong features two of the most famous and fiercest monsters. Wingard’s challenge with Godzilla vs Kong is how to embrace the B-movie silliness of the versus concept while somehow giving us more than just two giant creatures beating the bejesus out of each other for two hours. It’s a tough call, because any film that pitches itself to audiences on the basis that they will get to see two iconic characters locked together in mortal combat immediately hamstrings itself as a work of cinema.
The film proved to be a massive hit and maintains classic status amongst fans. With this in mind, the filmmaker – who is no stranger to dealing with beloved properties (hello, Blair Witch Project) – said he aims to respect the original while adding an emotional pull to one of the most iconic monster showdowns in history.
The Legendary MonsterVerse has unfolded so far in such a way that each subsequent installment seems to up the ante on the overall mythology, and each new film does that in an exponentially more ambitious way. We went from only vague hints about what else was out there in 2014’s Godzilla, to greater indicators of ancient connections in Kong: Skull Island, to flat-out underwater civilizations worshiping the Titans in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. It stands to reason that Godzilla vs. Kong would also take some really big swings to deepen the monster mythology, but perhaps not in the way we expect.
Having the climactic battle in Godzilla vs. Kong take place at night in Hong Kong will also follow the example set by another popular Kaiju film. In Pacific Rim, the neon night lights of the city were used to great effect to create cool scenes of the battles between the Kaiju and the Jaegers. Not to mention the cultural significance of having Godzilla fight a western monster icon in his home territory of Southeast Asia where the character was originally created.
Directed by Adam Wingard, Godzilla vs. Kong brings back three cast members from Godzilla: King of the Monsters Originally set for a March release, the fourth installment in the MonsterVerse was moved back to November 2020. The explanation for Godzilla vs. Kong’s delay is likely due to Godzilla: King of the Monsters ‘ struggles at the box office and Warner Bros.’ commitment to making sure the next movie is a hit. Unfortunately, this means it may be a while longer before a trailer is finally released.
The monster mash takes place in a time when monsters walk the Earth and humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth.
Our sources have revealed that Warner Bros. offered James McAvoy a supporting role as Nathan in Godzilla vs. Kong but he passed on the opportunity. Although this news is disheartening but not surprising, there were not many promotions going on for Godzilla Vs. King Kong, and now we know the reason behind that.
Not that this is necessarily a bad thing for those of us who love genre fare. The entire blockbuster era was ushered in when Hollywood began looking for counter-programming to the auteur-led film-making of the 1970s, and for all its faults it has delivered myriad examples of totemic cinema. Steven Spielberg’s Jaws is a B-movie in all but name, right down to the giant rubber shark that features as the antagonist; likewise, 1977’s Star Wars is the kind of far-out, boys’ own space romp that would and could only have been made as a cheap throwaway for the drive-ins and grindhouse theatres just a few years previously.
As far as movies go, Godzilla’s got the advantage over King Kong: He’s already headlined two films in the current franchise: GODZILLA (2014) and GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS (2019). In GODZILLA, which was itself a reboot of the classic Japanese franchise, the ancient and powerful lizard Godzilla returns to battle a pair of Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms (MUTOs) as humanity is caught in the crossfire. We learn that a secret organization called Project Monarch was created to study Godzilla and similar ancient monsters, known as Titans.” Godzilla ultimately triumphs over the MUTOs and returns to (presumably) hibernate in the sea. Some hail him as a hero and King of the Monsters,” while others aren’t so sure he has our best interests in mind.

the underwater kingdom, the Hollow-Earth can lead to locations revealing new information on the Titans’ history. If Monarch could learn how Titans and humans previously coexisted, it would change the landscape of the MonsterVerse. Discovering long-lost origins of the Titans relationship with humanity could also result in retcons to certain characters such as Godzilla or Mothra based upon their unique powersets and relationships with humans. For example, the famous non-Toho kaiju Gamera wasn’t an ancient super-species but instead the creation of Atlanteans. This type of revelation within the MonsterVerse would be game-changing.
In Godzilla vs. Kong, the unusual relationship between humanity and a group of giant monsters will be explored even more after the first two films. Along with the Monarch trying to find what the Titans are, even as two of the greatest among them start to do battle.
FINAL WARS is another sort of “greatest hits” approach to the Godzilla story, with our famous lead creature facing off with almost every enemy he’s ever encountered on screen. It’s not great, but it sure is wild, with Godzilla even having to fight (briefly) the version of the monster from 1998’s Roland Emmerich blockbuster. This movie was meant to retire Godzilla from big screen action for a few years, and it made sure he went out with a bang.
The arrival of King Kong was teased in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The crossover event stars Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta), Rebecca Hall (Iron Man 3), Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2), Danai Gurira (The Walking Dead), Jessica Henwick (Iron Fist), Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood), Shun Oguri (Gintama), Eiza Gonzalez (Baby Driver), Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), Demian Bichir (The Nun), Van Marten (The Walking Dead), and Zhang Ziyi (Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon).
This type of containment would incorporate the Orca, which can replicate Alpha-Waves in order to manipulate the behavior of Titans. In the wake of how ineffective the oxygen destroyer ended up being, it would make sense that the United States government, running Monarch, would want less of a destructive force and more of a specialized machine. This machine combining an upgraded Orca and Titan-level weaponry would be the most logical version of Mechagodzilla within the MonsterVerse. It could be called Mechagodzilla as a reference in a mocking way since the Orca can replicate the influence of Alphas such as Godzilla.
For as long as I can remember, I have loved monsters. I remember watching Godzilla (1998) on TV and completely falling in love with the title creature, even if later I learned that he wasn’t quite as majestic as he should have been.
Godzilla vs. Kong is directed by Adam Wingard from a screenplay written by Terry Rossio based on Godzilla by Toho and King Kong by Edgar Wallace and Merian C. Cooper. Mary Parent, Alex Garcia, Eric McLeod, and Brian Rogers produce. It stars Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Eiza González, Jessica Henwick, Julian Dennison, Kyle Chandler, Zhang Ziyi, and Demián Bichir. Warner Bros. will unleash the clash of the titans into theaters on November 20, 2020.
I honestly enjoy both monsters, and I didn’t mind Kong winning. Us Godzilla fans can always revel in the knowledge that Godzilla was stronger by default, even after Kong was scaled up in size for the movie. Like you say, Kong only won through a cheesy power-up.
According to The Wrap , Godzilla vs. Kong has been pushed back eight months and will now reach theaters November 20, 2020. It’s the second time the release of the motion picture, which is directed by Adam Wingard, has been switched. The first footage from Godzilla Vs Kong drops at Brazil’s Comic-Con and fans went nuts.
With only three films, and three comic books as companion pieces, the MonsterVerse has shown that it has an incredible world. A rich world full of whole new monsters for the center of it all, the crypto-zoological agency Monarch, to explore.

The year 2020 is the year of action movies where we’ll reunite with the world’s favorite Bad Boys, finally get an answer to the classic Hollywood question, ‘Who would win in a battle between Godzilla and King Kong?’ and witness a world of action on the big screen.
Kong: Skull Island is opening in theaters today, but Legendary Entertainment is setting its sights on a bigger prize: the eventual clash of King Kong and Godzilla. To that end, the studio has announced the assemblage of a writers room that will author the story beats of Kong vs. Godzilla, under the direction of Pirates of the Caribbean screenwriter Terry Rossio. But this news isn’t really about one flashy mash-up.
Next fall’s GODZILLA VS. KONG will pit the larger-than-life legendary lizard Godzilla against the skyscraper-sized King Kong for an epic cinematic battle. The titans will converge and clash in this new blockbuster sequel, which is slated to feature several more of our favorite movie monsters.
With that in mind, the fans can surely expect a lot of familiar faces from that film to come up again during the showdown with Kong. Thunder Spark – King Ghidorah can withhold his gravity beams and release a strong electric surge through his bite.
The cast will be led by Alexander Skarsgård (Big Little Lies) making his debut in the franchise as a geologist and close ally of Kong, and Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) who previously appeared in Godzilla: King of Monsters as Madison Russell.
The toys also revealed what appears to be a new look for King Kong, who is now equal in size to Godzilla and can be seen donning what appears to armor while wielding a massive club. The Godzilla toy can also be seen wearing what appears to be red armor on his back that also covers his plates. While it may not be significant to the story for Godzilla vs. Kong, the display features the King of the Monsters and Mechagodzilla confronting each other while King Kong watches.
The second film to pit Godzilla and King Kong against each other, Godzilla vs. Kong will be the culmination of every entry in Legendary and Warner Bros.’ MonsterVerse so far. When Godzilla and Kong engage in a battle for supremacy, Monarch embarks on a quest to discover the Titans ‘ origins while a human conspiracy threatens to wipe out all of the ancient creatures.
Unfortunately, sometimes toy lines also serve as spoilers for the actual film. This happened with SHREK with Cameron Diaz ‘s ogre action figure of Princess Fiona and the toy that revealed Paul Rudd ‘s Giant-Man for CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR, months before the film debuted. Well it appears as though the same situation has happened again, this time regarding the upcoming monster film GODZILLA VS. KONG The spoiler in question involves everyone’s favorite Toho kaiju and his ape enemy.
The announcement that production had wrapped on the film came Friday from the movie’s director, Adam Wingard (You’re Next, The Guest). Well, the title is fairly self-explanatory: the two monsters are set to come face to face. I really want you to take those characters seriously,” he told Comic Book Movie I want you to be emotionally invested, not just in the human characters, but actually in the monsters.
A follow-up to both Godzilla: King of the Monsters and 2017’s Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla vs. Kong stars Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Lance Reddick, Eiza González, Kyle Chandler, Demián Bichir, Jessica Henwick and Julian Dennision.
There are no featured reviews for Godzilla vs. Kong because the movie has not released yet (May 22, 2020). Embrace Kong’s victory. It made both monsters iconic and made a rematch something that fans on both sides have longed to witness. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for both monster kings.
King Kong’s victory in 1962 brought the popularity of Godzilla to new heights. Toho began making Godzilla films like McDonald’s makes hot cakes and were able to market them to an enthusiastic American audience. Within the span of two more movies Godzilla made the transition from villain to hero as Ghidorah the Three-Headed Monster was introduced to the world. Kong’s victory was short-lived as he only appeared in one more Toho film and would endure a terrible remake accompanied by an even worse sequel in the ’70s.
After appearing in new standalone films set in Legendary’s MonsterVerse, The King of the Monsters and King Kong will finally come face to face in Godzilla vs. Kong. However, it appears the two beasts will also be forced to confront Mechagodzilla, as a toy of the character was included with figures of Godzilla and King Kong at an annual toy fair in Hong Kong.
King Ghidorah was once a Yamata no Orochi, a legendary eight-headed dragon from Japanese mythology. Ghidorah was slain by ancient Japanese warriors and laid to rest in a cave. The warriors prayed for Ghidorah’s soul, believing that he would return one day to protect Japan, along with his fellow guardian monsters Mothra and Baragon.
According to Variety , Godzilla vs. Kong, which was originally set to come out on March 13, 2020, is now slated to hit theaters on Nov. 20, 2020. We don’t have any official reason on why the film was held back, but it’s speculated that the move was done in order to re-asses what makes the franchise successful. After all, before King of Monsters, Kong: Skull Island and 2014’s Godzilla still made a lot of money.
While the original 1933 King Kong was 18 feet to 24 feet tall, the original Godzilla was 164 feet tall. The original Kong is no match for Godzilla, so the film makers had to even the odds by having Kong grow to 148 feet tall and gave him the ability to thrive on electricity and lightning, while lightning in this movie repels Godzilla. A bigger stronger Kong and a less powerful Godzilla was the result. Godzilla was not at his strongest in this movie. In later movies from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s, Godzilla would become way more powerful. Look how insanely overpowered Godzilla is in Godzilla Final Wars in 2004. The 2004 Godzilla is powerful beyond imagining and could make short work of Kong.
It’s a massive monster brawl movie. There’s lots of monsters going crazy on each other, but at the end of the day I want there to be an emotional drive to it. I want you to be emotionally invested in them. I think that’s what’s going to make it really cool.
The last 18 months have seen something of a renaissance for the high-octane big-budget B-movie. From the hyper-real monster mashup of Kong: Skull Island to the one-gal-against-the-ocean thrills of Jaume Collet-Serra’s The Shallows , to trashy superhero epics such as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad , the multiplexes have been invaded with low-concept, semi-infantilised cinema. It is no surprise to discover that Hollywood executives are currently greenlighting movies based on the whims of four-year-olds , because most of the above films could have been dreamt up – at least in terms of their basic concept – by small children.
