While Tony doesn’t really play a role in the plot of this Edward Norton-starring movie, he shows up in the post-credits scene to chat to General Thaddeus Ross (William Hurt) and plant more seeds for the eventual Avengers movie.

iron man movieTony Stark, an inventor and a playboy, is the CEO of Stark Industries which produces advance weapon systems for the U.S. military. Tony builds the prototype armor with stuff Stane has been secretly selling to the Ten Rings. Pepper turns Tony’s old arc reactor into a “Proof That Tony Stark Has A Heart” pseudo-trophy. This ends up saving Tony after his newer arc reactor is stolen later in the film.

While I loved this, it’s definitely not an incredible novel on its own. I would definitely recommend this book to people who have already seen and loved the film because it enhances your understanding of the story and you come to appreciate it more. It’s a great film adaptation though, and I applaud you, Peter David.

Heart, in this case, is the emotional pull that makes these heroes more than just action figures. Like the very best Marvel comic books, the very best Marvel movies make you happy when a hero thrives in the face of a challenge and give you a sense of impending doom when everything’s going a little too right for them. We’re emotionally invested in these heroes because of who they are as people, their personal strengths and weaknesses, their triumphs and their failures.

At this point, our list enters the yeah it’s pretty good” range. If Captain Marvel” had come out in the first phase of Marvel movies, it might have had a bigger impact. But a lot of these origin story beats had been done before. They didn’t quite nail the impact of Carol piecing together her missing memories, and it doesn’t help that we’re one step ahead of her for most of it. But it’s a solid flick.

Tony calls Rhodey a “war machine” during their fight in the second flick. Subverted by the third film, where Rhodey called himself War Machine for a while before the military forcibly rebranded the suit Iron Patriot. LG and Verizon during the first movie during Tony’s conversation following the missile demonstration.

About 1 hour and 25 minutes into the first Iron Man, there’s a scene in which Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) walks in on Tony removing his damaged armor. In the background of this scene, you’ll spot Captain America’s shield (well, a prototype version anyway) sitting on a workbench. This same scene was actually used in the trailers for the film, but the shield was edited out. Cap’s shield would show up again in Iron Man 2, but you already knew that.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe was born from an Easter egg. The credits rolled on 2008’s Iron Man and another scene began to play, Samuel L. Jackson stepped out of the shadows and spoke to Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark about something called The Avenger initiative, and the rest was history.

John Wenzel is an award-winning A&E reporter and critic-at-large for The Denver Post who has written about comedy, music, film, books, video games and other pop-culture topics. He hails from Dayton, Ohio, where he grew up thinking about the Wright Brothers and Guided by Voices.

In a scene from the trailer, Tony Stark ( Robert Downey Jr. ) slumps in a chair as he is held hostage by Raza’s Ten Rings guerrillas. One of his captors holds an M4A1 fitted with an M26 MASS. The MPAA doesn’t allow trailers to show any weapons to be pointed at a person, which explains the obvious Photoshop of the M4 into the shot (the stock of the G36C the terrorist is actually holding is still visible above the M4’s carry handle).

We’ve heard rumors for a while that Robert Downey, Jr. might be leaving the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s not unreasonable, either: the guy is pushing 50 years old, and has played Iron Man in five movies. Six, if you include the upcoming sequel “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” and Downey has also committed to appearing in “Avengers 3.” That’s a lot of appearances playing the same character, and it’s entirely possible that Downey might want to try something different and more challenging.

And when we look at the next 10 years of Marvel movies, the now-complete central human story between Tony and Steve will be missed Marvel succeeded in getting audiences invested in that relationship, but the thing about Marvel is that, nowadays, the studio has experience in selling us on stories about heroes, popular and obscure. And hopefully for audiences, Marvel will continue to give some soul to its ongoing assembly line of hits.

Yes, I knew I was looking at sets and special effects-but I’m referring to the reality of the illusion, if that make any sense. With many superhero movies, all you get is the surface of the illusion. With “Iron Man,” you get a glimpse into the depths. You get the feeling, for example, of a functioning corporation. Consider the characters of Pepper Potts ( Gwyneth Paltrow ), Stark’s loyal aide, and Obadiah Stane ( Jeff Bridges ), Stark’s business partner. They don’t feel drummed up for the occasion. They seem to have worked together for awhile.

And unlike most comic-book directors, Black doesn’t stint on the killing. An attack on Air Force One has the high body count of the movie Air Force One. It must be said that the timing wouldn’t seem to be great for a popcorn blockbuster featuring explosions in American cities, but for better or worse, this kind of picture always seems to get a pass. The audience needs its fix, and nothing gets between us and our superheroes.

Not as good as other Marvel movies even though it made a billion dollars at the box office. Robert Downey Jr. might be getting ready for another ‘Iron Man’ role. According to reports, the Marvel actor is allegedly in talks to reprise his role as Tony Stark in a new spinoff based on the character Ironheart.

But he’s a fiction — a creation of pixels, plastic and actor Robert Downey Jr. The real Iron Man doesn’t exist outside the imaginations of comic-book artists, digital wizards, costume designers and the fans who embrace his synthetic but glowing heart.

A. Scott reviews “Iron Man,” based on the Marvel comic about a man who protects the world in an iron armor suit. Pre-Mortem One-Liner : Attempted by Stane before trying to kill Pepper, which gives Tony enough time to intervene. Mr. Fanservice : Tony gets a shirtless or near shirtless scene in several of his movies.iron man movie

It’s such a lightning strike moment for a movie based on comic books, where secret identities are often treated as sacrosanct. It was also, as we now learn, an unscripted moment that Downey himself felt was a better fit for the character.

Even if you own the movies, watching them in order isn’t completely straightforward. You could watch the Marvel Movies in chronological order, beginning with Captain America: The First Avenger during the ’40s, as Steve Rogers takes on Red Skull. Or you could watch the Marvel movies in release order, which makes Tony Stark’s origin in 2008’s Iron Man the place to start.

With names like Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges, and Paul Bettany, the cast of Iron Man is incredibly impressive. But before any of these actors joined the MCU — even before Robert Downey Jr. came aboard — Marvel had its sights set on Terrence Howard.

He then escapes – returns to the USA with a change of heart (as it were) – to no longer make weapons. Intrigued he secretly re-builds the Iron-man suit (very cool) – and returns to Afghanistan to defend a village. He then determines there is double dealing – as use of his own Stark weapons is still going on back in Afghanistan.

Cool Garage : Tony Stark’s workshop houses a Saleen S7, a Tesla Roadster, an Audi R8, an AC Cobra and a hot rod. He smashes one of them and sprays debris on another during his tests of the Iron Man suit. In some crates left by his father, we even see Captain America ‘s partially completed shield. Taken even further when Iron Man 3 reveals that Tony has put in a wine cellar beneath his garage, along with an armory built specifically for his numerous Iron Man suits.

So there is a certain amount of irony wrapped up in the fact that when Stark’s convoy gets ambushed it’s with weapons from his own company. Stark almost dies in the assault. Then his captors demand that he build a Jericho system for them. It appears that he has no choice but to follow their orders.

A lot of the credit, deservedly, goes to Marvel Studios President and Chief Creative Officer Kevin Feige and his cinematic strategy of interlocking films. By making each standalone movie fit into a larger narrative, Marvel turned each of its solo superhero movies into a must-see story.

Stane’s scientists reveal that they cannot finish his suit as they cannot duplicate Stark’s Arc Reactor. Instead, Stane ambushes Stark at his home, using a Sonic Taser to paralyze him and take his Arc Reactor. Left to die, Stark manages to crawl to his lab and saves himself by re-using his original arc reactor. Potts and several S.H.I.E.L.D. agents attempt to arrest Stane, but he dons his suit and attacks them. Stark fights Stane, but is outmatched without his new reactor to run his suit at full capacity.
