lewis capaldi age – Strona Główna

His debut single, Bruises,” was released on March 31st, 2017, and has since notched up over 25 million plays on Spotify. This song isn’t quite right yet, but I would love to put this song out later.

lewis capaldi lyrics forever – Pollstar

Lewis CapaldiLewis Capaldi is a Scottish pop rock singer who began his career by uploading tracks to the Internet and performing at local venues in Glasgow. Among current chart-topping bops like Lizzo’s Truth Hurts” and Lil Naz X’s Old Town Road,” there’s the absolute crusher of a song called Someone You Loved” that has spent 19 weeks on Billboard’s Top 100. This week, it’s sitting at No. 4.

There were some lovely other offers, but Capitol was right. Having two British people at the label helped, as it felt like home. More than that, I’d heard lots of great stories about Capitol, how they will work – and are now working – an artist when there is very little story in the US.

Maybe Bruises” was the first ever song that changed things, in fact, maybe a song called Headspace that’s on the album, that I wrote when I was like 17. Those are the first songs where I really really wrote about what I was thinking and what was happening in my life and those are songs that people seem to gravitate towards.

Capaldi: I’m looking forward to it and I’m excited. I want to come and see what happens in America and try my hardest over there, to see how far we can take things. I’m excited to play those shows, and it’ll be good to come over and do shows with a full band. It just opens up more dynamics and really shows the full range of the songs.

The story soon became familiar all over Europe, America & Australia and America where it became Capaldi’s first top 10 single in the US. With a record breaking 6 back-to-back completely sold out headline tours all over the world in less than 18 months, his ascent, simply unprecedented, his rapidly developing fanbase ravenous, outstripping the supply for tickets for every show. His talents didn’t go unnoticed among his peers with Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran & The Killers all inviting Capaldi to open their Arena & Stadium shows.

Those kind of broad influences are clearly resonating — “Someone You Loved” has already made the Scottish singer-songwriter a hometown hero across the pond, but now his dominance has extended to the U.S. This week, “Someone You Loved” climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, and he earned three MTV EMA nominations On top of those feats, Capaldi recently joined Alicia Keys onstage for a duet version of the song, and he’s getting ready for a sold-out North American tour in support of his debut album, Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent. So, yeah, you could say he officially “won” the breakup that inspired his biggest hit.

Capaldi and his team are currently trying to balance giving the debut album its proper due, and working on things like stage design for the first time.

Lewis has become well-known for his hilarious Instagram Stories – almost as much as his music – but there’s no messing around from the singer-songwriter when it comes to recording new music.

To reference Capaldi’s words from two years ago, he has succeeded in his aim. He has not created something completely shit; Capaldi has delivered a striking project that is poised to catapult him into the stratosphere of timeless, moving songwriters.

Capaldi: Yeah, it’s so weird. It doesn’t feel like thousands of people have booked tickets because it’s all online, and it probably won’t feel like that until I’m standing onstage in front of thousands of people and I’ll go, Oh my god, this sold out in seconds.” Do you know what I mean? That’s what’ll make it feel real but yeah, that’s a weird one just because playing live for me is the utmost thing and the whole point of doing this. The reason I write songs is to play them live. The reason I record is to play live. The reason I do like any promo is so I can play live. I think, for me, the live part of it is the most fun and the whole reason I got into it.

Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi debuts the ‘Someone You Loved (Official Video)’ today, following the previous-released visual starring Scottish actor Peter Capaldi.

Some of it has to do with the traces of troubadour in his music, the parallels to Irish catharsis king Damien Rice and the late, great Scottish indie legend Scott Hutchison among others. Capaldi sings with a similar emotive grit. I’d love to hear his version of The Blower’s Daughter” or The Modern Leper.” If he wanted to rock, he could blow you down without trying. I’d even consider getting into the blues if Capaldi wanted to rip into The Thrill Is Gone” or whatever. Still, the music he actually does make it undeniably sanitized and goopy. Sung by almost anyone else, Someone You Loved” or Grace” or Hold Me While You Wait” would be hokey garbage.

The ‘Someone You Loved’ hitmaker recently spent time with Sir Elton John and his lovely” family on board the ‘Tiny Dancer’ singer’s yacht and he had a brilliant” trip, although it often felt surreal when he remembered just how famous his host is.

If all the wisecracking seems at odds with his tortured-romantic persona, Capaldi insists it’s no less a product of his real life than his music. The other day his publicist got a call from a reporter who’d heard that he employed a comedy writer, which blew Capaldi’s mind since he doesn’t consider himself all that funny — definitely no funnier than his family or his old pals from home.

Meanwhile, Lana Del Rey received the gong for Song of the Decade thanks to her hit track ‘Video Games’ – which was released in 2011 – marking the first time the prestigious honour has been handed out at the ceremony.

There’s no better introduction to his debut than the worldwide Number 1 smash hit single ‘Someone You Loved’, which spent no less than 7 weeks as the UK’s Number 1 single shattering chart history at every turn.

Backstage at the Boston show, which Capaldi’s parents had also flown in for, he faced some more fact-checking from his mom regarding his usefulness as anything but a musician.

Capaldi: It’s better with the band. Having the band allows those moments in the set where it’s just the piano and the vocal to be really special. So when we do Bruises” and Someone You Loved,” those are moments where you’re like fucking hell because the set has a bit more of a dynamic and a groove, in the sense that it’s up and down. It makes the bigger songs sound fucking amazing and makes people really enjoy it a lot more and it makes the quieter and more intimate sections feel just that. It’s a different kettle of fish.

Certainly, Capaldi has lost his virginity in the upper regions of the music charts: After his debut album, the cheekily titled Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent,” was released in May, it went to No. 1 in the UK and stayed there for six weeks. And now the LP’s big single, Someone You Loved,” has put Capaldi in the same company as such hot acts as Lizzo, Billie Eilish and Lil Nas X in the US.

After playing Bruises,” his debut single from 2017, to resounding response, he reprised the chorus with just his voice and his pianist. In fact, the melancholy numbers with just voice and piano stood out, though Headspace,” featuring all four backup musicians, unfolded like a majestic hymn.

Before Lewis signed with Universal we were selling 700-ish tickets up in Scotland, and I’d promoted his tour around the rest of the UK in small, 150-cap rooms. We knew we had to build a base ourselves, because you go on the website of any major record company and you’ll find the artist you never hear spoken about anymore; you’re always fearful of becoming one of those.

All general tickets for Lewis Capaldi at P&J Live have now sold out, however we do have some VIP options still available, please see details below. In April, the Scottish singer-songwriter sold out eight U.K. arena shows for 2020 even though he hadn’t yet released his debut album.

The Pop Songs chart measures total weekly plays, as tabulated by Nielsen Music, among its reporting panel of 167 mainstream top 40 stations. Lewis Capaldi, auteur de l’énorme hit “Someone You Loved”, sera le mardi 11 février à Forest National.
