marshall mathers daughter rap – The Marshall Mathers LP 2

Two springs later, The Eminem Show proved the SoundScan darling was no fluke, as the pride of Detroit became the only rap act to record two diamond-certified LPs (10 times platinum) without the aid of the double album and despite bootlegged leaks.

MARSHALL MATHERSWhite rapper that has become the phenominin known as Eminem. If there’s one aspect of Eminem’s ability left that can go completely unquestioned however, it’s technical skill, which he exhibits in spades on album centerpiece ”Rap God”, dropping ryhmes in breackneck speed throughout, in particular during an outrageous midsection which boasts a stunning 6 per second word count, proving Mathers worthy of his self appointed title. It’s roughly this far into the record 14 tracks that you begin to realize LP2 is never going to hit a run of form; you can’t name three faultless songs in a row. Unlike its predecessor which mercilessly grabbed hold and never let go, the only consistent thing about 2 is its inconsistency- you can nearly see a pattern of hit, miss and hit all the way to the finalale.

Although Eminem usually collaborates with Aftermath Entertainment and Shady Records rappers such as Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, D12, Obie Trice and Yelawolf, he has also worked with Redman , Kid Rock , DMX , Lil Wayne, Missy Elliott , Jay Z , Drake , Rihanna, Nicki Minaj , Xzibit, Method Man , Jadakiss , Fat Joe , Sticky Fingaz , T.I. and Young Jeezy Eminem rapped a verse in a live performance of Busta Rhymes ‘ ” Touch It ” remix at the June 27, 2006 BET Music Awards. He appeared on Akon ‘s single ” Smack That ” from Konvicted , Lil Wayne’s hit ” Drop the World “, and ” My Life ” (the lead single from 50 Cent’s Street King Immortal).

Where Jay Z’s album felt chilly and glazed-over – the work of a king in search of a specific mandate – Eminem’s scorches, spewing emotion as hot (and as damaging) as lava. International rap legend Marshall Bruce Mathers III – aka Eminem – turned 47-years-old on Thursday, October 17. The impact he has made on the hip-hop genre is undeniable. Our thoughts are with Eminem and his family during this difficult time.

The rapper revealed in the virtual reality interview, Marshall From Detroit, that the album was the perfect confluence of events in his life and a national mood that he’s been trying to get back to ever since.

The overall mood is lighter and more agreeable than anything Eminem’s released in ages. The Marshall Mathers LP 2 is Eminem’s first album since his hiatus that doesn’t feel completely at the mercy of his inner demons. Even when musing on his usual traumas, he does so with uncharacteristic acceptance. On the naked ballad Stronger Than I Was,” he reconsiders a breakup and concludes he’s better for it, and on the requisite track about his mother, Headlights,” he extends her an olive branch, apologizing for years of character assassination.

While scrounging for work under the threat of being kicked out by his mother, Marshall poured his heart and soul into the only thing that mattered: music. In 1997 Eminem released The Slim Shady EP, which was discovered by Dr. Dre , the legendary rapper and former producer of Eminem’s favorite rap group N.W.A.

As a teenage dropout, Eminem found a way to express his passion for language, as well as to release his youthful anger, through the emerging musical genre of hip-hop. He assumed the stage name M&M, a playful reference to his initials, which he later began writing phonetically as “Eminem.”Eminem identified with the nihilistic rage of late-1980s and early-1990s rap music, and he was especially taken with N.W.A. , the popular and highly controversial gangster rap crew from Los Angeles.

The album also contains lyrical samples and hip hop references, such as the the hook on “The Way I Am”, which samples “And The Rhythm Goes On” by Eric B. & Rakim. The first two lines of I’m Back are based on a song by the same group called “My Melody”. The pre-hook of the song “Marshall Mathers” is a parody of “Summer Girls” by LFO. Snoop Dogg makes an appearance of the album with the song ‘Bitch Please II’ which is a sequel to the original “Bitch Please off snoo is the only song that Snoop and him did together.

Eminem is supported by a cadre of veteran producers who provide The Marshall Mathers LP with many of its most exhilarating moments. 45 King loops a Dido sample to unexpectedly mesmerizing effect on Stan” while Dr. Dre drapes large portions of the The Marshall Mathers LP in impeccable, shimmering production. The Marshall Mathers LP a true classic.

Eminem has rapped about Hailie throughout his career, including on the 2004 song “Mockingbird” and throughout his 2017 album Revival. Hailie graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in psychology and has become an Instagram influencer.

Throughout Eminem ‘s career he has talked in numerous tracks that his dad abandoned him; tracks like My Name Is” and Cleanin’ Out My Closet” reflect that. Eminem (pictured in 1999) wrote the majority of The Marshall Mathers LP while in the studio.

Everett-Green, Robert (October 26, 2000). “Bad rap for a rapper”. The Globe and Mail (newspaper). Toronto. p. A25. Westerfil, Jack. Biography of Eminem: The life and times of Eminem, in one convenient little book.

With four successful albums under his belt, Eminem took a break from recording solo material from 2004 to 2009. His pill-popping lifestyle was catching up to him, and he hopped in and out of rehab during those years.

The Intro, “PSA 2000,” is stupid but hey it gets the ball rolling. Kill You” is relentless and unforgiving. Em attacks the haters and women in general and specifically his mother. Stan” is a classic song. The disgruntled fan writes to Em about how much of a fan he is. The chorus is perfect here. Dido did her thang. The last verse always gives me chills when Em realizes that Stan is already dead.

You could argue that on The Slim Shady LP he was more so playing a character than he was on the Marshall Mathers LP where it was way more personal. On SSLP the songs were less angry and more comedic in nature, the world in SSLP seems to be more cartoonish and less realistic but still coming from a real place. I think Brain Damage is a perfect example of exaggerating his past but not that much and hiding dark truths behind unrealistic comedy like his brain falling off. I’d say songs like My Name is, Guilty Conscious, My Fault, As The World Turns, I’m Shady, Bad Meets Evil are more songs where he’s in character” while other songs still have a cartoonish element to them but are less sarcastic and more grounded into reality into how he really thinks about life like Still Don’t give a fuck, Role Model, and just don’t give a fuck. The character is portraited as dangerous to himself and others but not really in a genuinely scary manner until you get to 97 Bonnie & Clyde.

At 14, he began rapping with a high-school friend. They frequently skipped class to participate in freestyle rap battles at a nearby school’s lunchroom. Soon enough, Marshall felt like he needed to earn the approval of more than just the high-school crowd. In preparation, he took his initials and renamed himself as M&M” – which eventually became Eminem”.

While Eminem attempted to mitigate such criticism by maintaining that his raps simply use the rough language he has been surrounded by since childhood, and later by performing a duet with Elton John at the 2001 Grammy Awards to demonstrate his openness to the gay community, Eminem nevertheless remains reviled in some quarters for his offensive lyrical content.

I think when listening back to these albums you pay attention to the way he uses sound effects and adlibs in almost all of the songs on SSLP to add character but also put you in a mindstate so you can actually feel like you’re there with his daughter in Bonnie and Clyde, or there where his head falls out his his skull in brain damage. Specifically in My Name Is there are certain adlibs that serve as a 2nd voice in his head talking to himself.

Eminem released his eighth album, MMLP2, on November 5, 2013. The announcement for the future Grammy-winning album, formally titled The Marshall Mathers LP 2, was made during the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.

Lights, camera, action: Eminem stars in ‘8 Mile’ in 2002. The film tells the story of a young white rapper from Detroit trying to make it in the music business – sound familiar? It garnered critical acclaim, and Eminem earned an Oscar for best original song for ‘Lose Yourself,’ which he wrote for the soundtrack.

From Eminem’s book “Angry Blonde”. Son of Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr. and wife Deborah R. Nelson (later remarried). Despite never meeting his father, Eminem, 46, rapped in songs such as My Name Is and Cleanin’ Out My Closet about the strained relationship he had with his dad.

The obvious standout on the album is Stan” and it still holds up today. Listening to Stan narrate his letters is still as sad and scary as it was in 2000. We see Stan go from a fan who admires Eminem, to an angry kid with a history of abuse with a possible hint of homosexuality, to an unhinged criminal who kills his wife and unborn child. It truly is the greatest song Eminem has ever written, and the Dido sample was a stroke of pure genius.MARSHALL MATHERS

Perhaps that’s why his primary reference point here is one of his own records, The Marshall Mathers LP,” the 2000 disc (titled after his birth name) that solidified Eminem’s reputation as a superstar and a serious artist.

Another highlight on the album is The Real Slim Shady.” Yes, it is the most mainstream song, and the most fun, and the only song without layers to it. It’s a fun song to listen to, it’s fun to rap to, and he doesn’t compromise lyrical content for a radio single.

As a result, Eminem was raised by his mother, Deborah Mathers. Eminem has been scathingly critical of the way his mother raised him. Through his song lyrics, he has publicly accused her of being addicted to prescription drugs as well as subjecting him to emotional and physical abuse.

In the early ‘90s Eminem and Canibus shared many similarities as their rap careers began to blossom. While Em laid waste to the underground circuit, Canibus was making noise of his own via stellar guest appearances on tracks with Slick Rick, The Firm, and Common. Unfortunately, Canibus’ crowning moment was his beef with LL Cool J, as his self-titled debut album was a critical and commercial failure. The reason for the beef with Marshall was odd, as Canibus – in the middle of his battle with LL Cool J – got a tip from his mentor Wyclef Jean that Em may have ghostwritten LL’s The Ripper Strikes Back” response.

According to Eminem’s Dad, she dropped her son there without telling anything to her husband. Debbie told Edna that he was abusing her and she was supposed to keep the secret although she was in touch with Marshall’s grandmother from the paternal side (Rae).

Eminem released another album that received mixed and even opposing reactions in 2017, ‘Revival’. The record featured more big-name collaborations; the first three singles were ‘Walk on Water’ (ft Beyonce), River (ft Ed Sheeran) and Nowhere Fast (ft Kehlani). A year later, 2018’s ‘Kamikaze’ became the best-selling hip hop album of 2018. It’s Eminem’s tenth consecutive No 1 album and his latest record of new material to date. However, the rapper this year celebrated the 20th anniversary of his major record debut ‘The Slim Shady LP’ with a re-issue that featured acapella versions, instrumentals and more.

The rapper has said the new album isn’t a sequel to the earlier set so much as a revisitation” of its themes: his relationships with his mother and his ex-wife, for instance, and the toxic effects of celebrity.
