One thing is different between Wallen’s hair and his dad’s hair back then, at least for now, although the Tennessee native won’t completely rule it out in the future. Wallen doesn’t have a formula when it comes to writing songs.

Morgan Wallen (born May 13, 1993 in Sneedville, Tennessee) is an American country music artist. Florida Georgia Line make a habit of selling out their shows, with multiple sold out stadiums and 16 chart-topping singles. Morgan WallenJohn ShearerRising Country star Morgan Wallen has just announced a 19-date tour to kick off 2020 and it includes a Cincinnati stop.
Up Down” is in the top 10 on the country radio airplay singles charts and still climbing. The song is from Moragn’s debut studio album If I Know Me , available everywhere now.
Morgan Wallen is known almost as much for his retro hair as he is for his music. The 26-year-old proudly sports a mullet, even though he knows not everyone – including his Big Loud record label – is a fan of the style.
RaeLynn at the 53rd Academy of Country Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on April 15, 2018, in Las Vegas. Earlier this summer, Wallen unveiled hypnotic collaboration with Diplo, Heartless,” and will hit the road on Jason Aldean’s WE BACK TOUR next year.
Wallen: It’s the biggest thing I’ve gotten to do so far in my career. Luke’s awesome, and his team’s awesome. I’ve heard a lot of people say that Luke is the same guy that he was when he first started…I can 100% see that. He’s just a good ol’ boy, and he has a great time performing, and feeds off of people. I think that’s the most important thing that I’ve taken away from his performance so far is seeing his transparency with the people. I think whatever the quality is that makes you yourself, if you let those true colors show through on stage, I think that’s what makes people really get it.
Wallen hopes to build a similar story. He headed out on a promotion tour of radio stations in the summer of 2016, giving him a chance to start playing for people again after spending so much of the previous year in writing rooms and the recording studio. The end goal is to be on a stage, making that emotional connection with his distinctive sound. But it takes time to get there.
His first album, If I Know Me, was produced by Joey Moi of Big Loud Records. Moi made his name overseeing mega-platinum rockers Nickelback before relocating to Nashville and becoming a country music mogul. The album’s second single, “Up Down,” featured superstars Florida Georgia Line and reached the top of the Country Airplay charts, definitively announcing that Wallen had arrived as a major name in Nashville.
The tour (the latest incarnation of the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour) kicks off January 2nd in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and hits theaters and auditoriums in New Orleans, Raleigh, Philadelphia, and Denver, among others. Now You Know” singer Jon Langston and Ashland Craft, like Wallen, a former contestant on The Voice, will open all dates.
With a new, fun energy in country music right now,” Wallen was particularly excited to work with Wesley as he continues to venture into country music.
The Nashville way of co-writing is to show up at 11 in the morning and try to have a song done by 4:00 p.m. That’s all great and works for a lot of people, and I still do that to an extent. I still love to write with good people. It has really given me a lot of inspiration to have my buddies and write with them. We all have similar lifestylesm and we have a lot of things in common. A lot of times when we write, we’ll cover a conversation we’re having that day or a conversation we’ve had in the past, or something we’ve all been through and share those same experiences. That’s something I’ve come to realize that I really value, having your friends to be close to you and write.
Rising hit-maker Morgan Wallen is making his mark on country music. Between the platinum-certified No. 1 summer smash Up Down” featuring Florida Georgia Line and his highly anticipated follow-up single Whiskey Glasses” burning up the charts, Wallen has burst onto the scene as a dynamite solo artist and in-demand songwriter. Wallen’s debut album If I Know Me (Big Loud Records), premiered in April 2018, and was soon after named one of Taste of Country’s Top 10 Country Albums of 2018, So Far. With more than 400 million combined digital streams to his credit, he was spotlighted in CMT’s Listen Up 18 for 2018” class of newcomers, named a 2018 Taste of Country RISER, and earned opening spots touring with the likes of Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Chris Lane, and Jake Owen.
In addition to working on his first album and his upcoming shows, Wallen recently released a music video for his song, “The Way I Talk.” The track’s lyrics talk about Wallen’s upbringing and how it shaped who he is. It’s his first music video, and he brought his sister and friends to appear in it.
The EP was home to Florida Georgia Line’s genre-bending debut Cruise,” the first of 16 No. 1 songs. With 11 million copies sold, “Cruise” remains the top-selling digital single in the history of country music. With it, came years of criticism and jeers about the duo’s dedication to the genre. When it came time to craft the approach to their fourth album, Kelley and Hubbard ripped a page out of their first playbook. There are no typos in the album title, but when they opted to call the project Can’t Say I Ain’t Country,” they knew people would talk.
Morgan Wallen is in Toronto tonight (May 31) performing with Luke Bryan, Sam Hunt, and Jon Pardi. Dan + Shay are on pace to become the most successful country-radio duo since Florida Georgia Line.
During his time on the show, Wallen was first on R&B singer Usher’s team, before Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine stole him. The singer was eventually eliminated during the Playoffs round. However, Wallen does not have any regrets about his elimination from the show.
The history of music is littered with examples of successful young artists who think they’ve got it all figured out and that they can coast by doing what they’ve done so far. Morgan Wallen isn’t one of those artists. The more we talked, the more clear it became that he wants more.
I came from a little baby town in East Tennessee, and I still feel like I’m pretty much the same person, and I hope that I always will be. I think that people can really relate to that, especially if you keep it in your music as well. I always write honest things. That’s one thing I’ve seen from Luke. He’s 100% of himself on stage, and that’s really cool to see.
But Wallen’s mullet isn’t overshadowing his success in music: Whiskey Glasses,” the third single from his 2018 debut album If I Know Me,” became a sleeper hit and topped Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart for two weeks this year. The song is just one of three country tunes to reach the Top 20 of the all-genre Hot 100 chart this year.
At the end of 2016, Wallen signed with Big Loud Records, a label owned by record producer Joey Moi. He released his debut single “The Way I Talk” shortly after. In addition, he co-wrote the single “Preachin ‘to the Choir of A Thousand Horses.” In April 2017, Wallen released a music video for “The Way I Talk”. She also joined the Florida Georgia Line to set dates on her Dig Your Roots Tour. He’s a passionate singer with a unique sound who grew up in Appalachia, and you’ll be hearing Morgan Wallen before 2016 is over. Wallen moved to Nashville in July 2015, not sure what he would find, but convinced that he should at least give his dreams a legitimate shot. Less than a year later, he’d already been signed to Big Loud Records, recorded some initial tracks with producer Joey Moi (Florida Georgia Line, Jake Owen) and hit the road on his first radio promotion tour.
Twenty-five-year-old Morgan Wallen is a rising star currently taking the country music world by storm. After his hopes to play college baseball were sunk due to an injury, Wallen turned back to songwriting and making music.
Note: Morgan told us that it’s an answer that a lot of people don’t expect from him as a country singer – but we love it. The reality is that we’re in a great generation for music and the ability to love artists and songs from all genres.
Morgan Wallen with special guest to be announced. Catch Morgan up close and personal before he hits the big stages next year. On tour with Florida Georgia Line 2018. This is a 21 and up show.
I know that I come from a place of small-town roots and of humble beginnings and I try to keep those things in my songs – just stuff that I know people like me can relate to,” Wallen told Rolling Stone last year of his songs’ appeal.
Wallen has also written songs recorded by artists such as Dustin Lynch, Kane Brown and Jason Aldean who just celebrated his most recent No. 1, You Make It Easy”, which was co-written by Wallen and Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley from Florida Georgia Line.
Morgan Wallen is a good example that even if one of the artists doesn’t win The Voice (or any competition like that), they can still achieve their dreams by using that exposure along with hard work and dedication to equal success.
