When the extended play launched, it hit No. 14 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. But with a little ingenuity, they’ve come up with a system that works for them. In 2015, he released the single “Yours”.

Russell Dickerson was born for the stage. Dickerson: Not straight to me, but I’ve just been watching and learning everything that they do, how they handle their crew or even in the live show, what they do that works with the crowd, and stuff like that. Yeah, I’m definitely learning so much from them. It’s just like no matter what, every single night fans paid a ticket to see you perform and so you’ve got to go out and give it 100 percent.
Rising country artist Russell Dickerson recently updated his tour’s live console. The following year, Russell signed a deal with Triple Tiger Records, which released his “Yours” album last fall.
Next up, Russell Dickerson took the small stage, to bring his high-energy set to the intimate crowd in New Jersey for an afternoon of hits and even revealed a few new songs. Rocking a tie-dye shirt and pink sunglasses, Dickerson danced around the stage performing songs from his debut album, Yours, including Float”, Would You Love Me”, and All Fall Down”.
The Very Hot Summer Tour will be traveling throughout the US to cities such as Chicago, Ill., Cincinnati, Ohio, Atlanta, Ga., Des Moines, Iowa, New York, N.Y., Las Vegas, Nev., Nashville, Tenn., Orlando, Fla., and many more.
Russell finished his set with his two number one songs, “Blue Tacoma” and “Yours”, with the latter being the finale. And at the very end of “Yours”, he leaned in to the crowd and gazed lovingly at a lovely young lady.
Dickerson: It’s gotten to the point now where as soon as the first few seconds of the song are played, the crowd goes crazy. It’s really gratifying. They did a statistic at our number one party the other night, and I think it said the total reach was 1.9 billion people. I think that’s crazy how wide this song has gone. Every night the crowds go crazy as soon as they hear the first few seconds.
If you have seen Russell Dickerson perform live then you know he is a ball full of energy, running, jumping and dancing around the stage. One song after another he brings the crowd to another level each and every time.
Thomas Rhett announced he will heat things up in 2019 with his Very Hot Summer Tour. Thomas Rhett is much more than Russell Dickerson ‘s boss on the Very Hot Summer Tour: he’s also his best friend.
Dickerson closed with his first number one single, Yours,” which was also released independently and held the top spot within six weeks of Pearce’s independent triumph.
Dickerson: I started getting into songwriting around 2008. I signed a publishing deal in 2011, and I’ve been writing songs ever since then. Having written hundreds of songs now, it’s like once we wrote Yours” you could just feel it was different. All of us knew it was a special song. It was the song I had written with Parker Welling & Casey Brown specifically. It was one of those songs that felt different and we knew it would be life changing for all of us.
With 3 platinum selling studio albums, tickets for Thomas Rhett and the Very Hot Summer Tour are in high demand. Buy your tickets NOW because if you wait they will sell out.
In addition to appearances by Opry members, each Opry show also features a number of guest artists. Such guest lists can include the newest acts in country music, legends of the genre, and even artists from outside of country music who have been inspired or entertained by the Opry over the years.
Carly Pearce and Russell Dickerson are having so much success on the charts that the old friends decided to team up for the co-headlining The Way Back Tour in 2019.
Signed to Triple Tigers Records in 2016, singer-songwriter Russell Dickerson got off to a fast start with back-to-back #1 singles, “Yours,” and “Blue Tacoma.” His third single, “Every Little Thing,” is currently climbing the charts. He is one of just five artists chosen by Country radio personnel to perform during the “New Faces Of Country Music Show” on Friday, February 15th during Country Radio Seminar in Nashville.
Keeping the music going, New York City artist and local Nash Next winner, Jessica Rose entertained the crowd next, closing out the afternoon. She performed her songs One of The Boys”, Rose Tattoo” and even covered Gretchen Wilson’s Redneck Woman”. The perfect weather along with the high-energy performances, it was the ultimate way to kick off the weekend.
The perfect way to kick off not only the summer but Memorial Day Weekend is with some cold drinks, a beautiful sunny day and country music. New York’s Country 94.7 and hosted its annual summer kick off at Headliner on the Jersey Shore on Friday featuring Jessica Rose, Matt Stell, and Russell Dickerson.
When “Yours” hit number one on the country charts in 2018, it was the accumulation of “eight years of working my butt off to finally start to pay off.” That feeling was only increased when his second single, “Blue Tacoma,” peaked at number one later last year.
When Kyler learned Dickerson would be performing in Denver, he knew he had to pop the question onstage to that song. Kyler invited their close friends and family members to the show, telling Talia that everyone was coming for Kyler’s upcoming birthday. When they reached the stage, before dropping to one knee with a ring, Kyler recited Dickerson’s lyrics to Talia: “You make me better than I was before, thank God I’m yours. Will you marry me?” After Dickerson popped a bottle and showered the crowd with bubbly, the newly-engaged couple shared a dance onstage to Yours” (while the audience tried to hold it together!).
Dickerson’s career is not nearly as extensive as it is impressive. He released an EP in 2011 titled ‘Die to Live Again’, which marked the official start of his music career. He did this through the help of the publishing group, Creative Artists Agency. While his first go did very little in traction for the singer, his 2013 single Green Light,” which was a satellite radio hit, would help set the momentum he needed to continue. In 2015 his hit single Yours” was released and sold more than 100,000 copies. The music video for Yours” earned Dickerson much praise and collected over 6 million views on YouTube alone.
Rhett went a different route with his performance of Make Me Wanna” as he jazzed up the traditional-sounding country song by heavily adding the six-piece band that was behind him. Rhett also threw in a verse from Justin Timberlake’s Suit & Tie” in the middle of his number one song. After performing his most personal song, Life Changes,” the 29-year-old played three stripped-down songs, including Star of the Show,” That Old Truck” and an unreleased song titled To The Guys Who Date My Girls.” Although it’s a slow, heartfelt tune, Rhett throws some humor in there with the line When you pull her close, make sure you leave some room for Jesus. If you cross that line, I swear boy, you’re gonna meet him.” You can listen to the song below.
NEW YORK – These days it’s hard to turn on a country radio station without hearing one of Russell Dickerson ‘s hits — think “Blue Tacoma” and “Yours.” But it wasn’t that long ago that Dickerson was struggling to have his music heard.
The Way Back Tour has been a dream of Pearce’s and Dickerson’s since they were young, unsigned country music hopefuls. The pair met playing a small club in Nashville a decade ago, but now they’ve earned spots as country music royalty.
Russell Dickerson first stepped onto the scene in 2011 with a unique sound that put him in a class all his own. By slyly incorporating elements of R&B with the bright, tuneful sound of his contemporary country-pop, Dickerson gained traction in 2015 with the release of his single Yours.” The track debuted at the number 14 spot on the Billboard Top Country Albums Chart, selling 2,700 copies in its first week. Yours” went on to become a crossover hit, topping several charts, and earning multiple accolades including Best Wedding Song of 2016” by wedding site The Knot. Dickerson’s debut album of the same name followed in 2017, premiering at the number one spot on the Billboard Heat Seeker Chart. The rising star made his Grand Ole Opry debut in 2016. To date, Dickerson holds over 200 million streams on Spotify and 30 million views on YouTube.
Dickerson: There’s one story where they flew us out to the wedding to surprise the bride as she was walking down the aisle. It was really cool. We still keep in touch with them, and they send us pictures. They just had twins. That’s all because of a song. There are other friends of ours that we played their wedding as well. We’ll get to have some people on stage to propose, and that’s always so special. It’s crazy how the power of music can bring people together.

Pearce is the sort of songwriter that can illustrate things in three minutes that most people can’t verbalize in a lifetime. Her latest album, Every Little Thing, is full of heartfelt masterpieces, including the title track, which the crowd sang every word to.
Though the openers were popular up and comers with hit songs on the radio, the crowd was still not familiar with some of the original songs Green and Davis played, and they would have had more of an impact on the hyping the crowd up had they played more cover songs.
The Way Back Tour gets underway January 24th in Cleveland, Ohio and runs for 11 dates in total, including stops at the famed Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Joe’s on Weed in Chicago. Tickets for all dates go on sale Friday, November 9th. The tour is a full-circle moment of sorts for Pearce and Dickerson, who knew one another from Nashville songwriting circles well before their careers began to take off in the last two years.
Dickerson: So Yours” is the first song off of the album that we had written. That was only the second song I had written with this specific group of songwriters who I went to college with. So once we kind of got in our groove, we just kept writing and kept writing. Blue Tacoma” came out. … We wrote Blue Tacoma,” and then we wrote Every Little Thing,” and we just kind of kept that ball rolling and kept that same vibe that we had created with Yours,” kind of a similar vein. I think we really captured that moment in time in my life. I wrote Yours” less than a year after I got married, and so that was the vibe we wanted to create with the album and we just kept writing and I think we did.
Though fans will likely have to hold out until 2020 for new music from the “Billions” singer, he assured ET that the new songs – some of which he wrote with Lady Antebellum – will be worth the wait.
Rachel and Dean’s romantic one-on-one date has the perfect ending as the two are serenaded by country music singer-songwriter Russell Dickerson. From Week 4 of The Bachelorette 2017. Watch all-new episodes of The Bachelorette MONDAYS 87c on ABC.
I think there’s a reason that it kind of took me a little longer to get started. I didn’t just graduate college and get a record deal and have a couple singles that did okay. I took a lot of time building before I was ever in the spotlight, or had a record deal, or anything. To come out of the gate with two #1s is the dream that every artist hopes for, so it’s been really cool to put that time in – kind of in a secret place – and then once we hit the debut, it’s like all the gears are going, and it’s actually working. It’s so awesome.
Now, the Union City, Tennessee, native is spreading even more of his energetic performances and soulful songwriting opening for Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker on their Summer Plays On tour, which kicked off in July and continues into the fall.
In 2015, Kailey decided to make a music video for her husband, picking up a couple lessons from her filmmaking brother Toben Seymour, when she helped him on the set of a Norah Jones music video shoot.
The crowds are definitely bigger these days — that’s what a No. 1 song on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart will do. But Kailey’s still bringing people to the shows — even if those fans of her husband don’t know it.
