Thomas RhettThomas Rhett’s Die a Happy Man” is in CMT Hot 20’s Decade. Mark Matejka performs with Lynyrd Skynyrd at the Stagecoach country music festival, Indio, Calif., April 27, 2019. Bret Michaels performs at the Stagecoach country music festival, Indio, Calif., April 26, 2019.

Thomas Rhett is a country singer and songwriter whose third album, Life Changes (2017), debuted at No. 1 across all genres of music. He is also known for hit songs like “Craving You,” “Die A Happy Man” and “Marry Me.” Rhett was named male vocalist of the year at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2017, and has served as a judge at the Miss America pageant.

Next up was “Make Me Wanna.” The 2013 track is from his debut album, “It Goes Like This.” The Bee Gees vibe had fans dancing with the added rhythm and blues. Rhett even brought out a trumpet player for some soul. With the beat similar to Justin Timberlake‘s “Suit & Tie,” Rhett remixed his record with the lyrics of the hit track, but then slowed it down for some a cappella.

Like his father, Rhett – who also goes by the nickname TR” – is a prolific songwriter. When out on the road, he dedicates an entire tour bus to songwriting sessions with his father and a rotating cast of Nashville writers.

This year’s ceremony will be a special one, as it will celebrate the decade-long anniversary of the live music franchise. The live, 90-minute soiree will pay tribute to McEntire, as well as the other aforementioned artists who ruled the last 12 months.

Life Changes captures that whirlwind period. Recorded while Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren, were in the middle of adopting their daughter from Africa and awaiting the birth of their second child, it’s the biggest, boldest-sounding record of his career, filled with songs that stretch his sound to new limits. Kicking off the album is “Craving You,” a driving, danceable pop anthem filled with ’80s-inspired production and guest vocals for Maren Morris. From there, Life Changes carves a path as wild and wide as his own career. There are coming-of-age country ballads, heartland rock & roll anthems, EDM-influenced pop tracks and R&B slow jams all wrapped together by the songwriting skills and elastic vocals of a frontman who’s willing to shine a light on his own milestones and mistakes.

Rhett found this sweet spot after debuting at the tail-end of the bro country craze of the 2010s, finding his groove in 2015 with “Crash and Burn” and “Die a Happy Man” – a pair of Country Airplay number ones from 2015, the former finding the singer fleet on his feet, the latter showcasing the domesticated romantic side that became his calling card. Over the next few years, those long-term love songs, epitomized by the 2017 number one “Marry Me,” kept Rhett at the top of the charts and cemented his place as one of the biggest country-pop singers of the latter half of the 2010s.

Rhett co-wrote the song I Ain’t Ready to Quit” on Jason Aldeans’ 2010 album, My Kinda Party” and then signed a contract with Big Machine Records, Valory Music Group division in 2011. He released his debut single Something to Do with My Hands” which was released on February 21st 2012, with a music video too. The song reached number 15 on the US Hot Country Songs. His follow up single Beer With Jesus” was released on September 4th 2012, and reached number 1 on the US Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart. It wasn’t until his song It Goes Like This” released on May 6th 2013, that Rhett got the success that he deserved, with the song going Platinum, and making it to number 1 on the US Country Airplay chart, it also became the title track of his debut album, which was released on October 29th 2013. The albums’ fourth single Get Me Some of That” became Rhett’s second number 1 single.

Literally every night in our concert, someone gets engaged to that song. It’s crazy. You look out in the crowd and there is a flashlight on somebody in Section 345. They got on a knee and proposed. When a song is that powerful and it’s a song that people are using as their first dance song at their weddings — that’s why you make music. You make music to make people feel what you felt when you were writing it. Make people feel about their loved one the way you feel about your loved one. To me that’s the power of what a song can do, and that one had the right place, right time, right sentiment, and right emotion.

With 13 smash No. Ones hits, an armload of awards including current ACM Awards Male Artist of the Year, and a growing reputation for electrifying headline tours, he’s spent the last seven years evolving from a kid on Center Point Road into a sonic trailblazer, and country radio’s most-played artist of 2018. Three adventurous album cycles have come and gone, and each time he’s mined his upbringing for inspiration. But now, with what can truly be described as an autobiographical fourth studio album, he’s looking back with renewed clarity.Thomas Rhett

Underwood accepted her award and performed her hits “Two Black Cadillacs” and “Blown Away” from the stage of “Cry Pretty Tour 360” tour stop in Cleveland, Ohio. Oklahoma-Texas duo Maddie & Tae, one of her opening acts on the tour, helped do the honors.

Country music star Thomas Rhett and his wife Lauren open their home to People Magazine and share a glimpse into their hectic, but amazing life with two new daughters. The proud new parents reflect on the difficulties they encountered with pregnancy as well as the adoption process and how much they’re loving their now much fuller house.

Rhett’s wife, Lauren Akins, has become a celebrity in her own right — she has nearly 2 million Instagram followers. At his concerts, he sees more signs that say Bring Lauren Out!” than almost anything else.

Opening the night will be Rhett’s dad, Rhett Akins, a country singer whose 1990s major-label heyday included the hits That Ain’t My Truck” and She Said Yes.” Besides his recording career, the senior Akins has long been a successful Nashville songwriter. He’s written or co-written a plethora of songs covered by a lengthy list of artists, among them the No. 1 country hit Dirt On My Boots” by Jon Pardi.

Had a great time, never really listened to Thomas Rhett but loved what I heard, had a great time, look forward to learning more. Venue was great, great acoustics, had a really good time.

On October 12, 2012, Rhett wed Lauren Gregory (who now goes by Lauren Akins). The two share a long history, having met in kindergarten, attended the same church camp and dated a bit in high school.

Rhett was two years old when his father, then 22, moved the family from small-town Georgia to Nashville to try and make it in the music business. It was the early 1990s and country music was in a boom period led by juggernaut Garth Brooks. Akins quickly landed a songwriting deal, followed by a recording contract. He released albums, had several hits, shared stages and wrote songs with big name acts and became deeply enmeshed in the fabric of the town.

Fellow American country singers Dustin Lynch and and Russell Dickerson will join him on tour. Making the tour even more special is inclusion of Thomas Rhett’s father, fellow country star Rhett Akins.

We started to send it out to my manager and some of the folks at my label and I was like, I like it enough that I’m gonna put it in my set tonight.” So we wrote the song that morning at 10:00 and I played it in Little Rock, Arkansas — forgot half the words but it didn’t matter. When you write a song like that, I don’t think you ever know how big a song is gonna be. I think that song came out at the perfect time, when there weren’t a whole lot of ballads on the radio and a time when there really weren’t a whole lot of love songs on the radio, at least love songs from a husband to his wife.

All in all, Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins seem to be in it for the long haul. Their sweet love story will surely continue to inspire millions of fans around the world – and Rhett will probably continue to write songs about it.

Two of the artists of the year honorees, Luke Combs and Carrie Underwood, were in the middle of touring and couldn’t attend the show, but Underwood performed two songs live on the show via her tour stop in Cleveland, Ohio. She stopped her show to address fans in the venue and watching on TV.

Go ahead and type Center Point Road into your GPS. It’ll pull up a nondescript street in Hendersonville, Tennessee, leading away from Nashville’s suburban sprawl at the north edge of Old Hickory Lake. It won’t mean much to you or me, but for country star Thomas Rhett, there was a time when it was everything.

Country music star Thomas Rhett offered up an emotional speech and prayer Wednesday night after fellow artist Kane Brown spoke tearfully about the sudden death of his drummer, Kenny Dixon.

This Is Us star Chrissy Metz will be performing a song in honor of Combs, while Sam Hunt and Lady Antebellum will take the stage to deliver a tribute performance to McEntire, the recipient of this year’s CMT Artist of a Lifetime award.

The year 2017 held even more big life changes for Rhett and Akins. In May of that year, the couple announced that they were adopting a baby girl named Willa Grace from Uganda.

This impressive list hasn’t gone unnoticed in the music industry. Rhett has been the recipient of renowned awards and titles. In 2010, Rhett was named the No. 4 Billboard Country Songwriter. The following year, BMI named him Songwriter of the Year. He won it again in 2014. His song Honey Bee” became the highest selling digital debut by a country male solo artist. His biggest accomplishment, though, may be winning the CMA Triple Play award a total of seven times! The award is presented to a songwriter who penned three No. 1 singles in 12 months and he won it in October 2010, January 2012, February 2014, February 2015, February 2016, February 2017, and again in February 2018! In April 2018 Rhett was named Songwriter of the Year by the Academy of Country Music.

Thomas Rhett is set to kick off the summer on May 17 in Spokane, WA. Touted as a Born Entertainer” (Lincoln Journal Star), fans can’t help but get swept up in the fun” (Lexington Herald Leader) of Thomas Rhett’s live show.

Thomas Rhett then hit the studio, co-producing with trusted companions Dann Huff, Jesse Frasure and Julian Bunetta. But even with a consistent thread of country nostalgia, Center Point Road keeps its finger on the genre’s modern pulse. Embracing the bold unpredictability which is becoming Thomas Rhett’s signature, hot-blooded R&B meets brassy, shag-carpeted funk, danceable disco and breezy beachside soul, joining classic balladry, new school honky-tonk and above all, twangy authenticity.

Thomas Rhett, Dierks Bentley, and Kane Brown are set to headline the 34th annual Country Fest June 25-27. The three-day country music and camping festival in Cadott, Wis. will also include Cole Swindell, Brothers Osborne, Jon Pardi, Chris Lane, Matt Stell, Hardy, Neal McCoy, and many more.

Rhett’s introduction to country music started earlier than most. His father is Rhett Akins, one of Nashville’s most successful songwriters. In the 1990s, Akins released a few albums and went on tour, where his son eagerly joined him when he could. Akins was thrilled his son shared his interest in music but didn’t want to be the overbearing parent who pressured his kid to follow in his footsteps.

Thomas Rhett, (born March 30th, 1990) is a country and western singer songwriter from Valdosta, Georgia. He is the song of Rhett Atkins and has five singles that charts from his debut album It Goes Like This”.

Akins, who presented an award to her husband, 29, for the first time, used her moment in the spotlight to speak about her husband’s dedication to music while still putting their soon-to-be family of five first.

On Instagram (he has 3.1 million followers, the second most of any country artist), he’s pure dad as he excitedly posts videos and photos from a Drake concert, his house during game night, vacation scenes from Italy — and, most importantly to his followers, his wife and kids.

Whoever did Rhett’s theatrical effects deserves a raise, as the lights flickered on the same beat as the instruments. Fireworks burst out, and Rhett slowed it down with “Notice” from his recent album. Keeping up with the flow of tracks, Rhett performed “Sixteen” from his 2017 album “Life Changes.” While presenting “Sixteen,” Rhett talks about reminiscing turning 16 with his wife, Lauren, whom he grew up with.
