The third video his Matt explaining how his song Prayed For You” changed his life and became his debut single. Matt also expresses what it means to him hearing his song on country radio and getting to play at the Grand Ole Opry.

Matt: Right after college I fell head-first into country music. My first taste of music had a lot to do with the Texas scene. I spent a lot of time in a van and trailer touring the South and Midwest on my own. I had some success writing some songs with some bigger artists there that did well on their charts. I finally decided to see if I could do that in Nashville. After being in and out a week a month I finally moved here full-time about five years ago now.

A musician from Arkansas will be featured in an episode of the reality TV show “Bachelor in Paradise” that’s set to debut next week. Multi-platinum selling country artist Clay Walker is coming to The Bowl on August 30th, 2019 as part of his Long Live The Cowboy Tour.

Elsewhere on the Everywhere but On EP, Best Shot” singer Jimmie Allen stops by for an appearance on Home in a Hometown.” Stell had a hand in writing all seven tracks on the project, with co-writers including Ash Bowers (who co-produced the project with Stell), Chris Tompkins, Allison Veltz and Paul Sikes.

Matt Stell and his band are headquartered just outside Stell’s hometown of Morrilton, AR. The band includes Conway, Arkansas’ own Darren Barry on lead guitar, and Cliff Aaron, on drums. Together this energetic outfit tours the South and Midwest with their own brand of Southern music. They have played hundreds of shows in the past 2½ years and shared the stage with the likes of The Casey Donahew Band, Randy Rogers, Stoney LaRue, Wade Bowen, Eli Young Band, Chris Knight, Jason Boland and the Stragglers, John D. Hale Band, Bart Crow Band, No Justice, Reckless Kelly, Paul Thorn, Ryan Bingham, Johnny Cooper, Luke Bryan, Jake Owen, Eric Church, along with many others. They’ve made fans and friends along the way, and this year promises to bring on even more of the same.

Man, honestly it’s just been game changing for me. I got into music and always wanted to write songs because music makes me feel a certain way. My favourite songs make me feel a way that only songs can do. Watching this song resonating with people is really a dream come true. It’s really humbling. Folks are kind enough to drop a message on social media to let us know that they like the song or that they’re going to use it in their wedding, or that they’re going to use it to propose or something like that. It’s really, really cool to see that song resonate with folks.

Matt: I knew music would always be a part of my life, but didn’t know how much of my life exactly. I moved to Nashville with writing songs on my mind. I love being an artist, but I love writing songs equally. I had had some irons in the fire and had some things that didn’t pan out, luckily. I was asking ‘how much time do I dedicate to this without seeing the results I want?’ Looking back it was a blessing that it didn’t work out because I fell in with the team I’m a part of now that I’m so thankful to be a part of.

From East Texas, to Carolina, to coastal Virginia Seth Stainback has carved out a niche for himself as a not so typical southern songwriter. With a strong blend of blues, country, folk, old gospel and rock n roll, Stainback has laid the foundation needed to pursue his sound with his group Roosterfoot. In their short time together they have already shared the stage with the likes of Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Hank Williams Jr., ZZ Top, B.B. King, Anders Osborne, Robert Earl Keen, Big Head Todd & the Monsters, Rusted Root, Delta Rae, & Kip Moore to name a few. In 2014 Roosterfoot released Fire and Steel” produced by Anders Osborne to rave reviews and won numerous awards for the effort. Armed with a tough work ethic, these boys are on a big road with a long haul.

Overall, Stell’s EP Everywhere But On is a solid representation of his artistry that will make you want to root for his success. We can’t wait to see where his career takes him next and will continue to champion him on as he carves his own path in the country music industry.

Stell no longer has to use a fake name when he plays and he actually just released a new EP that has 7 songs. He spent a lot of time writing music especially for other people so he said he is happy to be apart of the creative aspect for his own music. Bobby asked what his favorite songs off the new EP are to which Stell replied ” Reason Why ” and ” Everywhere But On ” have to be his favorite if he was forced to choose.

I took a medical missions trip to Haiti, and it was the first time I ever got to see how the doctors, pharmacists, and medical professionals could improve people’s lives immediately and materially. That really struck me as something that was pretty special. I had been in Nashville and had some opportunities, but when stuff fell through, I was just trying to contemplate if I wasn’t playing music as a career, what would I do? I applied to this program and got in, so then I had a decision to make. I was pretty much going, and then about six weeks before I had to fully commit, I had an opportunity come up with my publisher and management now. That turned into an EP, which turned into a record deal, which turned into a single, so it was all pretty crazy, pretty interesting.

After years of chasing what was starting to seem like a pipe dream, Stell and his future fiancée took a medical mission trip which again changed his course. Working with doctors and nurses to help disadvantaged patients in dire circumstances, he felt inspired to make a difference, applied for and was accepted to the (post-baccalaureate) pre-medical program at Harvard extension school. It would take nine long years of study before he would even see his first patient, so it was time to decide where his future would lead. But a funny thing happened while Stell was standing at his fork in the road. He met Wide Open Music’s Ash Bowers, who almost immediately offered Stell a publishing deal.

Prayed For You” along with Home In A Hometown,” a collaboration with Jimmie Allen, can be found on Everywhere But On. Catch Matt at a number of major country music festivals this summer including CMA Fest (Nashville, TN), LakeShake (Chicago, IL), and Watershed (George, WA) and learn more at , Twitter , Facebook, Instagram, YouTube @MattStellMusic.

Matt hails from a small town in Arkansas. One which he is grateful to have grown up in, and makes a point to get back to see him family as often as he can. The Arkansas native’s first love, was not music however, but basketball. It was basketball that took him to Drew University in Springfield, Missouri. It was there, Stell’s love for music kicked in as he found himself hiding his developing songwriting career from his college basketball coach much of his senior season.

Matt: I’m glad you asked that question, we’re actually working on new music right now. I should have some mixes back on the next day or two on some songs I’m really excited about. We’ll have an EP coming this spring.

In this month’s episode of New In Nashville, we talk to Matt Stell, who’s breakout single ‘Prayed for You’ is exploding across country radio. The episode will feature a performances of his song Prayed for You,” which has been streamed more than 23 million times on Spotify.

Prayed for You” originally appeared on Stell’s independently released 2018 EP Last of the Best and subsequently blew up after being added to Spotify’s New Boots playlist. To date, it has racked up some 47 million streams. Stell, a former college basketball player at Drury University, was signed in a joint venture between Records and Sony, which began pushing Prayed for You” to radio. It’s now at Number 43 on the Mediabase chart, which measures terrestrial airplay.

The New Country 99.1 free concert series New From Nashville is back for its eighth season — this year hosted at The Boot Grill at 4164 Clydesdale Parkway in Loveland. The series is sponsored by Coors Banquet and High Country Beverage.

I spent so much time in a van or trailer running around everywhere that I basically had all my mail sent to my mom’s house. She had my checkbook and would basically write my rent check. I bet ya I didn’t spend four nights in the same place for years. That pictures along with a breakup at some point. we wrote this song about that and I identify with the character as a place I’ve been in life.” Matt told The Country Note.

It’s been a busy few months for rising country star Matt Stell, who made his Opry debut on April 27, signed with Arista Nashville, and continues to see his song Prayed for You” climb the charts. On May 24, he’ll release his EP, Everywhere But On, and today (May 10), the title-track was released.

They can expect the purest representation of what I do. Country music has always been this tension between Saturday night and Sunday morning, and certainly that’s what you can expect from this EP. “Prayed for You” is relationship-based and has a spiritual element to it, but the rest of the songs on the EP are a wide range, from drinking a heartbreak away to losing somebody. They can expect Saturday night and Sunday morning on this project.

The result is a track that can speak to everyone who yearns to find someone special, but doesn’t yet know who that person might be. Read on to learn more about how “Prayed for You” was written, in Stell’s own words.

The second video features Matt explaining when he knew music was his dream. He also shares that he wanted to write and perform both from the very beginning and why. Matt tells the story of how his publishing deal came about and how one of his songs led to getting signed to a record deal.

Now, after landing in Nashville over five years ago Matt’s career as an artist is looking bright. He’s surrounded himself with an amazing team including Ash Bowers (whom you might recognize as a producer and writer on breakout star Jimmie Allen’s debut album, Mercury Lane). But Matt’s road to Prayed For You” is not the one most traveled. In fact, it includes some serious, fork in the road, life-changing decisions Stell had to make that lead him to this very moment.

Prayed For You is Matt’s first #1 on the Country Airplay chart. It’s also the first debut single from an artist to reach #1 in 2019. The last artist to achieve that feat was Jimmie Allen with Best Shot back in Nov 2018.Matt Stell

Packing in radio visits with folks that have a passion for music is going to be a lot of my summer and fall. I get to jump on tour with a few of my artists buddies. I can’t really say much about that yet but that’s going to be fun. Playing these festivals is going to be a blast. Hopefully watching my song hit new folks’ ears and seeing how they respond to that is going to be really exciting as well. I’m just taking it as it comes now because it’s kind of a whirlwind.

Matt Stell’s hard work paid off. After moving to Nashville, he eventually caught the attention of Ash Bowers, who ultimately signed him to a publishing deal.

Prayed for You” is also the Arkansas native’s first top ten hit, and has been streamed more than 90 million times so far. You’ll find it on his EP Everywhere But On.

Allison (one of the co-writers) had met what turned out to be her husband maybe a week before, so she was riding pretty high from that. So that was our point of departure, and then Ash other co- writer, and I tried to inject our own experiences into the song. We came out with a guy that’s a lot like me, who’s way luckier than he deserves in most aspects of his life.

Sharing is caring!
