trolls movie 2 cast – ‎Trolls On ITunes

There’s a whole thing about how the Bergens haven’t had a Troll to eat in 20 years, and now they’re super unhappy about it, but it all turns out to be really inconsequential — it’s mostly there so Poppy can age from baby to incipient ruler.

trolls movieTrolls is an animated movie set in a magical, colourful paradise where a community of trolls lives a fun-filled existence. Perry S. Said lass would no doubt identify immediately with our heroine, an irrepressibly sunny optimist named Poppy (voice of Anna Kendrick). But she would likely feel far less kinship with Poppy’s companion on the quest to which most of “Trolls” is devoted, Woody Allen-like perpetual worrier Branch (voice of Justin Timberlake).

The Trolls are relentless pollyannas, living to sing and dance, singing and dancing to live. The princess Troll, Poppy (Kendrick), has a watch timer set to go off when it’s time for hugs. Her pastel-hued friends include a new-age guru Troll, a Troll that speaks with an autotuned vocoder voice and a disco Troll that farts glitter. Which one will you wish to squish first? Timberlake voices Branch, a doomsayer Troll with gray skin and black hair who thinks all the noise from the endlessly joyous celebrations will betray their secret hiding spot to their adversaries, the Bergens, brutish lumps resembling the type of lowercase-t trolls we might imagine living under bridges. Branch ends up being right, so there’s your plot, with many familiar beats.

At one particular festival, the Bergen are preparing to consume the Trolls, only to find that the Trolls they thought they had secured had escaped through an underground tunnel that dropped them out into the forest after a harrowing run.

The trailer starts out with Poppy singing Simon and Garfunkel’s The Sound of Silence, until she is shortly interrupted by an unexpected force. A Punk looking Troll comes in playing Black Sabbath’s Crazy Train on guitar, setting her up as Poppy’s rival. Then we get some explanation of the film’s plot, with the head troll explaining that there are six strings representing six different types of music: Pop, Funk, Classical, Techno, Country and Rock.

Twenty years since escaping Bergen captivity, Troll princess Poppy (Anna Kendrick) throws a big party on the anniversary of their escape, much to the objection of Branch (Justin Timberlake): a paranoid gray Troll who fears the festivities will attract Bergens. Unsurprisingly, the prediction is fulfilled, and many of Poppy’s friends are pocketed, prompting Poppy and Branch to embark on a quest to save her friends. Along the way, they barter with Bridget (Zooey Deschanel), the Bergen maid guarding the captives, to help her seduce the young Bergen King if she aids the Trolls in their escape. However, Poppy’s imprisoned love interest Creek (Russell Brand) strikes a deal of his own, selling out his brethren to save his skin. Many other asinine events occur during their hero’s journey,” but I’ll spare you the details.

Disgusted by the town’s inaccurate portrayal of the creatures, Eggs follows Winnie. After a brief exchange, he asks her for directions to Snatcher’s headquarters, located at an abandoned factory, where Eggs rescues Fish. They are caught in the escape. Snatcher recognizes Eggs as the Trubshaw Baby and reveals that all the captured Boxtrolls are building him a machine. Winnie, who covertly followed Eggs, overhears this exchange. She then helps Fish and Eggs escape from Snatcher and they take shelter in the Boxtrolls’ caves, where Fish explains that Eggs’ father had given him to them to keep him from Snatcher. Winnie agrees to help Eggs tell Portley-Rind the truth.

The Starscream : Chef intends to use the captured Trolls to overthrow Gristle Jr. and make herself the Bergen’s new ruler. Poppy: Why wouldn’t I be? By this time tomorrow I’ll be with all my friends. Oh, I wonder what they’re doing right now.

He might be known for biting bat heads and partying hard all over the world, but Ozzy Osbourne has always been a family man at heart. His new role in the animated children’s movie Trolls World Tour — voicing the character Thrash — seems like it will reflect both sides of his personality perfectly.

Chef stows all the Trolls inside a giant pot. Feeling betrayed and hopeless, Poppy becomes sad and loses her color, and the rest of the Trolls follow suit. After some silence, Branch starts to sing “True Colors”. His voice and newfound optimism inspires his friends, and they, along with Branch himself, regain their color and happiness. Bridget overhears the Trolls and allows them to escape since she is thankful for their help and for showing her how to be happy. She tells Poppy she loves her for helping her and lets them go free. However, Poppy can’t bring herself to abandon Bridget, and she rallies her friends to show the Bergens that they can be happy too.

Young Prince Gristle (voice of Christopher Mintz-Plasse) wakes up his father, the King (voice of John Cleese), on the day of Trollstice. All the Bergens gather around the Troll tree as Chef (voice of Christine Baranski) gets ready to cook up some Trolls. Since it is Gristle’s first time ever eating a Troll, Chef prepares to hand over the happiest Troll, Princess Poppy (voice of Iris Dohrn). When she picks from the tree, Chef finds that all the Trolls have been replaced with wooden dolls with crazy hair. The Trolls have escaped underground to a new home, while the King banishes Chef from Bergen Town. She angrily vows to find the Trolls and have them eaten, while the King tells his son that nothing will ever make him happy.

Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick will return for Trolls 2 when it lands in 2020. In the film, Chef’s chef coat has longer sleeve boarded with gold markings. In coloring books, children’s books, and other merchandise, her sleeves were short.

Trolls is an 2016 American 3D computer-animated musical comedy film based on the dolls of the same name by Thomas Dam. It is being directed by Mike Mitchell and co-directed by Walt Dohrn, produced by Gina Shay, and written by Jonathan Aibel, Glenn Berger, and Erica Rivinoja. The film stars Anna Kendrick , Justin Timberlake , Zooey Deschanel , Christine Baranski , Christopher Mintz-Plasse , Russell Brand , Jeffrey Tambor and James Corden It revolves around two trolls on a quest to save their village from destruction by Bergens. Produced as the 33rd animated feature by DreamWorks Animation, the film was released on November 4, 2016, by 20th Century Fox. A sequel, Trolls World Tour , is scheduled to be released on April 17, 2020.

Much like the Justin Timberlake music that pumps through the film’s veins, “Trolls” is light, inconsequential and fluffy. You can’t hate it, and it’s thoroughly likable, but only if you manage to keep your pesky brain turned off.

Dark and Troubled Past : The reason why Branch lost his colors and refuses to sing is because when he was a kid, his singing attracted Chef’s attention, and Branch’s grandmother was eaten when she tried to save him. Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake return as Poppy and Branch in the film, which is directed by Walt Dohrn, who served as co-director on Trolls, and is produced by Gina Shay.

Branch, even though he is gray, tries to sing “True Colors” for Poppy to cheer her up, and also confesses his affection for her. Poppy, after regaining her colors, returns Branch’s feelings, and they both end up restoring all the trolls’ colors including Branch’s. Bridget saves the trolls, willing to sacrifice herself. Poppy cannot bring herself to abandon Bridget after her sacrifice that is sure to doom her life, and with Branch and her friends, shows the Bergens that Bridget is Lady Glitter Sparkles and that it is not necessary to eat Trolls to be happy, and they too, can find happiness within themselves.

Just announced ( via Deadline ), joining Timberlake and Kendrick will be Sam Rockwell (Three Billboards Outside of Ebbing) and Chance the Rapper. In addition to voicing character in the film, both Rockwell and Chance the Rapper will record tracks on the Trolls 2 soundtrack.

Another key topic addressed in the movie is how to overcome fear by feeling better about ourselves. Bridget is a Bergen who struggles with her unappealing looks and feels badly about her lowly job as a maid. She is pretty down on herself until Poppy and the other trolls dress her up and even use themselves to give Bridget beautiful rainbow hair. She wins the king’s love and realizes that she is special and important, even without the fancy clothes and rainbow hair.

During this, we see glimpses of the musical worlds and their troll inhabitants. The Punk Troll then explains that she seeks to gather all of the strings and make it so Rock is the only one that exists. Now it’s up to Poppy and the other trolls to stop the Punk Rock Troll and save music all together. The rest of the trailer showcases these trolls visiting the various worlds with many hijinks and musical numbers ensuing, all set to the Scorpion’s Rock You Like A Hurricane.

Back in the 1960’s, little plastic Troll dolls with multihued shocks of fuzzy hair were all the rage. And those so-ugly-they-were-cute collectables have resurfaced to capture kids’ attention several times in the decades since. In more recent decades, they’ve shown up in miniature form, perched on the eraser end of some little tyke’s pencil. So, it’s not a major surprise that Hollywood decided it was time to give these wee creatures a Smurfy makeover and their own 3-D movie.

Heroic BSoD : Branch’s flashback reveals his, and that reaching one drives a troll into Color Failure After seeing his beloved grandmother perform a Heroic Sacrifice to keep him from being eaten after a Bergen noticed his singing, he vowed never to sing again, and he experienced Color Failure for 20 years. This foreshadows what happens during the Darkest Hour , when every other troll hits the emotional nadir and lose their color as well.

On June 23, 2010, DreamWorks Animation announced plans to create a film based on the toys, under the direction of Tim Hill. The brother-sister writing team of Adam Wilson and Melanie Wilson LaBracio were set to write the screenplay, and Dannie Festa of Festa Entertainment to executive produce. In June 2012, it was reported that Chloë Grace Moretz will voice the female lead, while the role of the male lead, Masklin, had been offered to Jason Schwartzman. In September 2012, 20th Century Fox and DreamWorks Animation announced that the film with the working title Trolls would be released on June 5, 2015, with Anand Tucker set to direct the film, written by Wallace Wollodarsky and Maya Forbes. Moretz and Schwartzman have also been confirmed to lend their voices. Peter Ramsey, the director of Rise of the Guardians, said that Trolls would be partially based on a Terry Pratchett novel.

In a mid-credits scene , Chef and Creek’s cart stops rolling. Chef prepares to eat Creek herself, but they soon find out they are on top of a monster, who opens his mouth and eats them both. Playing Cyrano : The Trolls attempt this for Bridget while she’s on her date with King Gristle Jr.

The heroes journey begins when the Troll Princess goes back to Bergen Town to liberate her people once again. She eventually does, even enlisting a lower-class Bergen in the jail break before they can be eaten. A moment of illumination happens at the jailbreak, when the Bergen King realizes that true love can lead to happiness all on its own.

Like Branch, I am in no mood to feel happy right now. It seems everywhere I look there is hurt and sadness and injustice and despair. His character suffered a great loss and it’s made him lose all his brightness and joy. The color has gone. He is grey as opposed to all his Troll peers, who are saccharine sweet and optimistic in comparison.

Eaten Alive : The Bergens are planning this for the Trolls, as we see a scene of some Bergen chefs dressed up with flaming grills going. Creek is put in a taco and goes into Gristle’s mouth still-screaming though he is not killed.

Be Careful What You Wish For : Branch tells Poppy that he can’t wait to see the look on her face when she realizes that life isn’t all cupcakes and rainbows. Late in the movie, he does get to see the look on her face when she has that realization, and it causes her to fall into despair and lose all her colors, causing the rest of the Trolls to lose their colors too. He clearly does not like it.

Poppy and Branch are on the way to Bergen Town. Trolls World Tour hits theaters April 17, 2020. Bridget (voice of Zooey Deschanel), the Bergen scullery maid, is in love with King Gristle. She dreams of him, pines after him and is making a scrapbook collage of romantic images of her and the king.trolls movie

The Trolls are small colorful creatures who live in an almost perpetual state of happiness, singing, dancing, hugging, and having fun all day. However, they are discovered by the Bergens, large ugly miserable creatures, who can only feel happy by eating a Troll. The Bergens imprison the trolls and eat them every year on a special occasion, called Trollstice (see solstice). The Trolls, led by their king, King Peppy, with his baby daughter, Princess Poppy, escape through tunnels on the day of Trollstice, when Prince Gristle Jr. was going to eat his first Troll. Enraged, Gristle Jr.’s father King Gristle Sr. banishes Chef, who was in charge of preparing for Trollstice. Chef promises to leave and find the Trolls herself.

The Troll Dolls have never had much of a mythology, and so screenwriters Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger (Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked”) were effectively starting from scratch. The flimsy story they devised was never going to be anything more than the scaffolding required to support a half-dozen helium-voiced musical numbers and contextualize the chorus of hyper-cute characters who sing them, but for something so derivative their script still makes impressively little sense.

So, how do the Bergens find happiness? They learn that happiness can only be found within their own heart. This is such an important lesson pointed out in this movie because it helps children understand how they can control their own lives. We often hear that our happiness and inner peace depend on our reaction to what is happening around us. We have the power to guide our thoughts and feelings during challenging and stressful times.

Trolls , the new animated movie about the little dolls with the long, neon-hued hair, is the kind of movie that invites the mind to wander. The Trolls are always happy, and the Bergens are always miserable unless they eat the Trolls. Properly Paranoid : Branch may be ridiculously paranoid, but he’s right about the Bergens being able to find them.

A Bergen and a troll fall into the open mouth of a giant plant-like creature. Some cartoony forest monsters eat each other. In the midst of a scrapbook story, a felt character has its head bloodlessly removed and swallowed. Animals and spiders crawl threateningly toward a defenseless Poppy before being knocked away. Branch tells a story of his grandmother being snatched up by a monster (and it’s implied that she’s eaten).

Of course, that was some 20 years ago. The trolls have since set up a new home in a wonderful little wooded hollow with lots of fresh air, clean water and … great acoustics. (Hey, they still love to sing, right?) And King Peppy is just about to cede his throne to his daughter, Poppy, probably the happiest, sweetest-voiced and most gifted troll you’ll ever meet. Yep, she can whip up a fabulous felt scrapbook or a humdinger of a group sing in no time at all.

But my favorite performance in the movie belongs to Zooey Deschanel , who plays Bridget, a Bergen scullery maid, with the voice of a parent trying to read a book about a spooky monster to her child. Her half-growl, half-coo turns Bridget from a random side character into someone who legitimately takes over the movie for a while.

Heel Realization : For Poppy, it’s when Branch reveals that the reason he hates all the happy things she loves is because they got his Grandmother killed. All the time she’s been trying to drag him into being happy it’s been causing him emotional pain and she didn’t even really consider his feelings.
